Kai-lypso 2BR Island House Overview
The Kai-lypso luxury vacation island house is one of a group of 20 island houses, located in the heart of Rum Point. Rum Point, long considered the most beautiful spot on Grand Cayman is situated on the calm and crystal clear waters in the exclusive upscale Cayman Kai community on Grand Cayman's Northside. Kai-lypso is a fully furnished and equipped 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath - 2 story vacation property. Walk out the front door and you are steps from scenic Rum Point Beach and The Wreck Bar & Grill and the Red Sail Restaurant.
Step out the screened lanai out back, and you'll find the beautiful freshwater pool, boat dock and pristine Cayman Kai lagoon which leads out to the Caribbean sea. The Kai-lypso island house interior is brand new throughout and has a king sized bed in the master bedroom, with two full size beds in the 2nd bedroom, comfortably sleeping up to 6 adults. The condo is shaded under Australian pines and enjoys consistent tradewinds that come across from Rum Point through the facility to the Cayman Kai lagoon with no A/C required. However, Kai-lypso has central A/C throughout.
The condo has a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances including the refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker and blender. The laundry room has a full size washer and dryer and the condo comes equipped with linens and towels, along with basic toiletries for your arrival. Chisholm's grocery is a 7 minute drive just down the road. The unit has Cable TV, stereo, local phone plus complimentary WiFi internet and internet phone for free international calls to the US and Canada.
Rum Point features lovely white sand beaches, pristine snorkeling over marine protected reefs, volleyball and beautiful Casaurina Australian pines with shaded hammocks, beach chairs and picnic tables. The Wreck Bar & Grill at Rum Point offers an excellent lunch menu and full bar. Red Sail Sports is a full service watersports operation, with dive and snorkel trips to world famous Stingray City and the North wall. They also feature jet ski, sunfish, paddleboat, dive and snorkel gear rentals.
For additional dive and snorkel options, we highly reccommend Ocean Frontiers. They are located in East End, a 20 minute drive and specialize in the East End and North Side wall dives and reef locations. They feature Nitox, rebreathers, night dives and shark encounters. Just around the corner is The Kaibo, a 2 story restaurant and open air bar located on a beautiful sandy beach, bay and marina in Cayman Kai. The Kaibo specializes in Cayman style cooking, plus soups, salads, sandwiches and burgers and is open for lunch and dinner.
We suggest renting a car while on the island, and can arrange your car rental through McCurley's Tours and Car Rentals. Rates are $300 - $350 per week, and include airport pick up and transfer to Kai-lypso where your car is waiting. Cars are late model, automatic with AC. They also transfer you back to the airport for your departure. This is a great way to go, eliminating the need to pack people and luggage in a car, and also provides for an orientation guide of the island on your 45 minute ride to Rum Point.

Your review about this rental will assist inform other travelers and help us improving our services. August, 2011Kai-Lypso is Idyllic - Family Doc It was very easy to set up all travel plans with Linda at Cayman Vacation. Kai-Lypso Kai was very clean. Had everything we needed available to us. Quiet spot without all the traffic! August, 2011 Kai-Lypso Kai - So Relaxing! - Abi We had a wonderful time staying at the Kai-Lypso condo in Rum Point. Beautifully decorated with all the amenities and a great view. We spent most nights sitting on the patio. We would highly recommend this place to anyone and look forward to coming again! Perfectly located so we could walk to most wherever we needed. Thank you! June, 2011 Kai-Lypso Kai: Perfect Relaxation - Rose Marie Y. The Kai-Lypso Kai island house was fantastic and we had a great time. We hope to return next year for more diving and relaxation. What a beautiful place to stay. Rose Marie March, 2009 We had an amazing time! - The Harte Family We had an amazing time! The Kai-Lypso accommodations at Rum Point were perfect, it had everything we needed to live comfortably while we there there. We spent the majority of the time out on the patio, in fact, I am hoping to have a similar set up built at my next home! The furnishings were beautiful and the place was nicely kept. Our car rentals through McCurleys went well and we explored so much of the island. It was not too hard to get used to driving on the left, much easier than when I was in Ireland. Much slower pace on Cayman. We particularly enjoyed the bar and grill at Kaibo, we ate there both on our first and our last day on the island. The coconut crunchy curry fish dish was delicious, and I have attempted to recreate it here at home. We spent so much time at Rum Point out in the water, snorkeling for hours at a stretch. My daughter and I were lucky enough to follow an octopus from place to place, watching him turn color to match his surroundings each time he moved. We were also amazed at a pair of Eagle Rays that came gliding by us in a graceful arc. We followed them for quite sometime as well, of course keeping our distance to remain safe. We headed over to the beach at Morritts for one afternoon, and had the pleasure of swimming with the large school of tarpon that live under the dock there. It was very difficult to leave, and we have all voted it our very favorite place we have visited, EVER! Thank you so much, we had a blast! January, 2008 - C & L Foley We had an wonderful vacation and the condo was great. Kai-Lypso Kai Unit # 19 had every convenience we could have asked for and we could not have found a nicer or cleaner place. The furnishings were incredible and very comfortable for our family of 4. The DSL worked perfectly and I was able to hook my computer and stay in touch with our family over the holiday ( Used the "Magic Jack" to phone over the computer and it worked great) .The weather was sunny every day and the back patio turn out to be a great place to read a book and enjoy a cocktail. We spent most of our time on the beach which was nice and quiet. The beach bar was perfect for lunch every day and they have a very friendly staff that made it a lot of fun.You guys were great and I would rent from you again in a minute. It was nice to get exactly what we were promised.Car Rental - I made a reservation with Budget but our flight was delayed ( Will Never fly Spiritair again) and the Budget rental office was closed. Fortunately Marshall's Rental office was open and we were able to get a nice car. I didn't think about rental car office being open when I arrived and probably should have taken you up on the rental you offered. Thank you again for setting up this wonderful vacation. , - Leffel Family Everything was wonderful! The Kai-Lypso Island House #19 at Rum Point was just perfect for the six of us and the Coconut Grouper at the Kaibo Restaurant was excellent. It was the first time we traveled out of the country and with your suggestions and recommendations it was seamless and perfect vacation. We spent allot of time in the water at Rum Point and of course fed and held the sting rays at Sting Ray City. Just as you stated the people who live there are very friendly. Thanks for your help! If we ever go back you can bet we will be contacting you for your help and accommodations. Many Thanks |
