High ceilings, a synthetic thatch roof, and lush landscaping create a tropical, indoor–outdoor vibe, while the layout works beautifully on its own or in combination with the nearby Mastic estate cottages for larger groups.

DINING & NEARBY AREA – NORTH SIDE & RUM POINT
Old Man Bay and the North Side offer a laid back, local dining scene with some very popular spots within a short drive.

VERY CLOSE (OLD MAN BAY / NORTH SIDE)
•    Over the Edge – Long time North Side favorite right on the water with Caribbean dishes, seafood, and a casual bar atmosphere.
•    The Caboose – Well reviewed local spot in Old Man Bay known for Caribbean flavors and easy, relaxed vibes.
•    Other local stands and cafes – Small, authentic stops for Caymanian bites along the North Side and into East End.

RUM POINT & CAYMAN KAI (ABOUT 10–15 MINUTES)
•    Rum Point Club – Casual beachfront restaurant and bar with pizzas, beach fare, and the island famous Mudslide.
•    Kaibo Beach Restaurant & Upstairs Restaurant – Beachfront dining downstairs and a more refined experience upstairs, popular for sunset dinners and cocktails.
You’re also within an easy drive of water based activities at Rum Point and Cayman Kai, including boat charters, snorkeling trips, and sandbar excursions.

GETTING THERE
Northside is roughly 30 km from Owen Roberts International Airport, typically about 30–40 minutes by car depending on traffic and stops along the way.

GROCERIES, SUNDAY CLOSURES & PRACTICAL DETAILS
Nearby grocery options such as Foster’s Express and Chisholm's Grocery are about 10 minutes away by car. Larger supermarkets are also convenient stops on the drive from the airport.
Supermarkets are closed on Sundays in Cayman, though most restaurants and gas stations remain open, and some gas stations sell liquor on Sundays. Grocery items can also be pre-ordered and delivered before arrival.
Chisholm’s Market is on the Northside, and is open 7 days a week, and is well stocked with food, supplies, beer, wine & liquor. 10 minutes from the condo.

TRANSPORTATION
•    A rental car is highly recommended for this area so guests can easily explore Grand Cayman at their own pace.
•    Many guests book directly with trusted local providers such as Marshall’s Rent-A-Car, Andy's Rent-A-Car, or compare options through Kayak.
•    Due to limited public transportation in Northside, having a car offers the greatest convenience and flexibility.

CHECK IN & CHECK OUT
After booking, you’ll receive detailed arrival information by email, and your unique door code before arrival.
Check in is any time after 4:00 PM with keyless entry; early check in may be possible depending on cleaning schedules and can be confirmed with the property manager closer to arrival.
Check out is self service at 11:00 AM, with clear instructions provided; late check out is only available if pre arranged, as time is needed to prepare for incoming guests.

TRAVEL INSURANCE
Travel insurance is recommended, especially during hurricane season from August through October, to help protect against trip interruptions and weather-related disruptions.

The Mastic Cottage is impeccable

"The Mastic Cottage is impeccable; exactly as expected! It is quite new and in very good condition. The amenities (beach chairs and cooler) were thoughtful and the kitchen equipment was stocked really well. The beds and bedding were very nice and comfortable. The layout was nice and provate with the master bedroom being detached. The yard is huge and beautifully landscaped and designed. Shared with three cottages but each is private. The only improvement would be that it could use a a shaded/landscaped outdoor sitting area as most of the outdoor sitting area is concrete and the open yard area is very open, something like the chapel cabin has with a small trees in pool and patio area. But the attached private walking trail makes up for it! The owner was around when we were there and he’s was a great source of knowledge on the history of the property. He clearly takes a lot of pride and pleasure in the quality of the property and I enjoyed being toured around. We would stay here again!

"Very new, newly kept and clean. All expected amenities were there and even a few I didn’t expect (kitchen items, cooler). The yard is really beautiful and the owner showed me around and explained the history and how he build and grew everything. We felt well taken care of.

"Found the spot for my last minute solo vacation and I absolutely loved it. The cottage was so beautiful and peaceful. Oh I can’t forget to note how spotless the place was! To have both sides was a dream. The host and her husband showed me the private walking trail and the ecosystem of the property! Big thanks to Kairys for the great recommendations for all the good food on the island. I would recommend this for smaller families and even solo travelers who want a peaceful adventure! "We had such an incredible and peaceful stay at the Mastic Cottages, the owners were so incredibly kind and the house was so beautiful and unique. we spent our days exploring the rugged yet gorgeous side of east end and north side. while cooking dinner in their big spacious kitchen and finishing it off with some movies before passing out in the extra large and comfy king beds! such a lovely time. "This place was awesome!! We met the owner builder upon arrival. We did not rent a car due to the fact that the driving is on the other side of the road, from what it is in the US. He took us to the grocery store near by and the next day into town. He talked us into renting a car. Which made it so much easier getting around. This place was so quiet and serene. The beds were awesome and we so enjoyed the colored lighting inside and outside. At first we thought we were too far away from things. But by the end of our stay and also spending our last night at a hotel by the airport. We truly enjoyed being away from hustle and bustle. Oh and did I say how comfortable those beds were, because the beds we had at the Hyatt by the airport were terrible. The only thing we were wishing that the indoor screened in pool was heated. We stayed here from 3/1-5, I am sure the pool stays warm during the summer. My friend and I highly recommend this beautiful Airbnb.

A botanical setting on a private estate

"Kariys and Nigel have created a lovely cottage (we stayed at Canna) with well thought out design, creative decor and high end appliances. We never felt like you shouldn't touch or use what's available. The plantings around each cottage are hosts to birds and the elusive parrots was heard and finally seen our last day. For us a manual on lights, air and ins and outs would have been very helpful as there was none. However whenever I emailed Kairys with questions she immediately answered. Nigel is truly a design genius and very down to earth. Always willing to educated us on trails, birds and his botanical designs. One issue was because it's a working estate there were some times when there was some activity in the morning that was heard. We are nature lovers so walked amongst the many plantings and woods, then snorkel and came back to dip in the pool. We already miss it all.

"Our stay at Don’s cottage was absolutely fantastic! The space was spacious, impeccably clean, and had such a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere—perfect for unwinding. "This place is fantastic, and Kairys and Nigel are wonderful hosts. Kairys was super accomodating, allowing us to drop off our stuff including perishable items in the fridge early while they got the unit ready on check-in day. We loved the nature walk and wealth of information Nigel had to offer on the plants on the island. The Unit is very modern, clean, quiet, and conveniently located on the north side of the island. We would definitely recommend staying here and would love to be back some day.

"I had the privilege of using the Mastic Cottages for my local wellness retreat by Authentic You Retreats.... and had an amazing experience! The communication from the beginning to end on the booking, questions, minor trouble shooting, and overall execution...was top notch! "The place is fantastic, beautifully done, comfortable, private, nested in nature, and minutes from the beach, restaurants, shops. The cottage was very luxurious and comfortable, beds were great and we slept very well, and everything available to cooks. Excellent initial contact with Don who was very helpful, and Nigel and Cairys were amazing hosts, very friendly, welcoming and helpful and really got out of their way to ensure we had a great time. Best Airbnb we ever stayed in and better than most 5-star hotels. We would stay at Mastic cottages again any time and highly recommend it!
