The "SAND DOLLAR" #4 is a 2nd-floor studio in The Cottages, a boutique 10 studio bed and breakfast on Grand Cayman’s East End, about a 45 minute drive from Owen Roberts International Airport.

It provides a serene, comfortable setting for 4 guests with modern amenities, personalized service, and easy access to both on site and nearby island attractions.

Whether for a romantic escape or a peaceful retreat, this ocean view cottage offers a relaxing place to unwind and enjoy your stay.

ACCOMMODATION & INTERIOR FEATURES
•    The "SAND DOLLAR" #4 cottage is a 2nd-floor 500-square-foot studio cottage with a direct ocean view located in the Yellow building on the right side of the property.
•    It features 2 Queen-sized beds with luxury bedding, accommodating up to 4 persons.
•    Full bathroom with shower for convenient post beach refresh.
•    Outdoor seating for 4 on the covered patio, perfect for morning coffee or sunset drinks.
• Equipped kitchenette with microwave and mini fridge for light meals, snacks, and chilled beverages.
•    Natural, green, and organic premium toiletries, Brita water filter bottle, bathrobes, in room safe, and luggage rack.
•    Smart TV, high speed Wi Fi, and Bluetooth clock radio for entertainment and connectivity.
•    Complimentary mid week cleaning and daily towel change available upon request.

•    Daily breakfast with locally grown foods delivered to your private covered lanai, featuring items such as scrambled eggs with bacon and toast, fresh banana bread, seasonal fruit, and French toast on request.

•    Fantastic snorkelling right off the beach, so you can enjoy the reef without leaving the property.
•    Full service concierge available to book attractions and on site activities, including a Caribbean cooking class (subject to minimum numbers).
•    Complimentary high speed Wi Fi and flat panel HDTV with cable across the property.
•    New, fully equipped air conditioned gym including books and games for downtime.
•    Self service, pay on site laundry with laundry pods and fabric softener, convenient for longer stays.

BEACH CONDITIONS
Properties on the North Side and East End of Grand Cayman may occasionally see sargassum (seaweed) wash ashore, mostly between May and August. This is a natural, seasonal occurrence throughout the Caribbean, and conditions can vary day to day.

Grand Cayman offers gorgeous beaches, great snorkeling, and plenty to enjoy island-wide, so we don't anticipate it impacting your trip, just a heads-up in case you notice it during your visit.

DINING & NEARBY ACTIVITIES – EAST END
The Cottages is in the scenic East End district, close to beaches, watersports, and a cluster of popular local restaurants and bars.

Within walking distance or a short drive:
•    Italian Kitchen at Morritt’s Plaza – Casual Italian inspired fare and pizzas.
•    David’s Restaurant (Morritt’s) – Sit down dining with seafood and steaks.
•    Mimi’s Dock Bar (Morritt’s) – Laid back dock bar for drinks and bites over the water.
•    Tides, Subway, and Coffee Bar at the Wyndham – Additional dining, grab and go, and coffee options.

Short drive (approx. 5–15 minutes):
•    Vivine’s Kitchen – Classic Caymanian home cooking with sea views.
•    Eagle Ray Grill – Burgers, tacos, and casual fare overlooking the reef.
•    Big Tree BBQ & other local spots – Authentic roadside barbecue and island dishes.
•    La Casita – Mexican restaurant where guests receive 10% off, with pick up options available.

Guests are also close to watersports and tours, including Stingray City trips, kayak rentals, jet skis, diving, and snorkelling excursions, often with a 10% discount at White Sand Water Sports once booked.

GROCERIES, SUNDAY CLOSURES & PRACTICAL DETAILS
Nearby grocery options such as Foster’s Express and Chisholm's Grocery are about 10 minutes away by car. Larger supermarkets are also convenient stops on the drive from the airport.
Supermarkets are closed on Sundays in Cayman, though most restaurants and gas stations remain open, and some gas stations sell liquor on Sundays. Grocery items can also be pre-ordered and delivered before arrival.
Chisholm’s Market is on the Northside, and is open 7 days a week, and is well stocked with food, supplies, beer, wine & liquor. 10 minutes from The Cottages.

TRANSPORTATION
•    A rental car is highly recommended for this area so guests can easily explore Grand Cayman at their own pace.
•    Many guests book directly with trusted local providers such as Marshall’s Rent-A-Car, Andy's Rent-A-Car, or compare options through Kayak.
•    Due to limited public transportation in East End, having a car offers the greatest convenience and flexibility.

ACCESSIBILITY & PARKING
•    Accessibility: Second-Floor cottage (Stairs, no elevator)
•    Parking: Complex parking or car space available (1 vehicle)

PROMOTIONS
Automatic discounts may apply based on travel dates, including seasonal Stay 7, Pay 6 offers from May 1 to November 1, along with last-minute deals, early booking savings, and extended-stay discounts.
Eligible offers are applied automatically, cannot be combined with other promotions or Repeat Guest benefits, and may be subject to blackout dates from December 17 to January 3.

CHECK IN & CHECK OUT
After booking, you’ll receive detailed arrival information by email, and your unique door code before arrival.
Check in is any time after 3:00 PM with keyless entry; early check in may be possible depending on cleaning schedules and can be confirmed with the property manager closer to arrival.
Check out is self service at 11:00 AM, with clear instructions provided; late check out is only available if pre arranged, as time is needed to prepare for incoming guests.

TRAVEL INSURANCE
Travel insurance is recommended, especially during hurricane season from August through October, to help protect against trip interruptions and weather-related disruptions.

"Celebrated our daughter’s third birthday in Grand Cayman and had a wonderful experience. The location is private and the host was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast every morning was delicious and we had a great view of the ocean. Would recommend and stay here again!

"This location is exactly as it seems online. The unit we stayed in was modern and extremely clean inside and out. The area is super quiet and not crowded. No issues finding a chair or using the facilities. Breakfast came to us every morning on the balcony which was fantastic. My only "complaints" which are very trivial, are that the 1 paddle board for use was extremely worn down with no safety strap. The other is that we got bug bites ALL OVER us, it seemed the bugs were in the condo even trying to keep the door closed as much as possible. The beach itself had tons of debris like grass, shells, etc. Neither were a major issue, but maybe a heads up that we should bring bug spray before arriving or we saw them raking around the property, maybe suggest raking off the small beach in front of the property too. The staff is VERY nice and attentive, but there is not "front desk". You have to call them if you need anything which is not at all an issue. Overall, great snorkeling right off the beach, plenty of things to do on that side of the island and would stay again.

"We loved the beautiful setting; it was quiet and restful and clean. We gave 4 stars instead of 5 because we had to have the hot water fixed 4 times during our week stay (they have "on demand" water heating). But the managers were very responsive, which is good

"This place is on the opposite side of the island from all the "action," but the short taxi ride out to the location is a reminder that you are on a secluded island! Waking up with the roosters calling, and waves crashing. We'll be scheduling again in just a few weeks.

"The Cottages is a very clean and well run location! We were provided with everything we needed for our time here. The light and simple breakfast at our room was an unexpected bonus. We did have some issues with the local cable service but those were easily fixed and not the fault of the hosts. Everything about this property is clean and updated. The location is away from the more touristy areas of the island but there is everything you need within a reasonable drive. The staff are beyond friendly and helpful! If we return to Cayman we will try to stay here again.
